Rublevsky vs Grischuk

Scotch Game: Potter Variation (C45)· 0-1

Kevin’s Commentary: Rublevsky is one of the highest rated players that actually uses the Scoth as an opening for white and Grischuk shows why it’s very hard for a top rated player to have a good game for white and keep the advantage throughout. Black was able to equalize early on. Both kings were never in jeopardy until the end when black sacrificed his rook on move 29. Black saw that giving up his rook and having two minor pieces would be much more potent attack against the white king. The execution from black at the end was excellent.
